A Most Worthy Cause

I have been wrestling with the idea of putting this on my blog or not, but have decided I can't just sit back and do nothing.  A girl I grew up with (well, she's a few years younger than me and my younger sister's friend) has a daughter, Lucy, who is suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy.  Now, I don't know the ins and outs of the disease, but I do know sweet Lucy's story.  I follow her amazing mommy's blog, but I don't want to exploit their story, so let me just say that Chad and Cherisse (Lucy's parents) have faith and courage beyond anything I can possibly imagine.  They deserve everything I or anyone else can do for them and their precious baby girl.  That being said, Pepsi Refresh Project is giving away millions of dollars to fund great ideas and this is where I feel I can do my part.  Stop SMA, the charity raising money for research, is in the running to receive $250,000 from Pepsi.  It's all based on votes and all it takes is logging in here and voting for Stop SMA!  Please, if you have a few minutes, register to vote then log on each day and do your part.  I've also added a widget on the side of this page to make it easier.  I know it's not much, but I also know that with funding for research, it can and will change lives!

How did you get the widget on the side of your blog? I'm so dumb with that kind of thing. I cry almost every time I read their blog. She is a strong woman!
